Okay so turned off GPU scheduling and that removed the flickering I was seeing. Performance was still really bad on OpenVR but on OpenXR it was much improved. Updated my DLSS to 3.1.11 but had a horrible crash. DLSS 3.1.2 was fine though. Synched Sequential was still pretty bad so stuck with native even though the dust trails have an effect only in one eye. Synched Sequential required the motion blur cvar to be turned down otherwise you got a cloning artifact I noticed.
Unlike with GPU scheduling did not need the frame delay compensation to fix synched sequential like before. Was still very jittery, and even in Native wasn't great until I went down to Medium settings really. Updating it from works poorly to works okay in the logs, will require some extra effort from users with Lovelace GPU's and even afterwards has some quirks that could be annoying to some.
Clip below starts off with everything cinematic and DLSS quality, second part of the clip is DLSS quality and medium settings which I think performed much better.
OpenXR plugin decided to record my UI in the first session but not in the second π
Changed some color values for a more contrasty experience that popped a bit more in my headset:
