Damage Opponents with different types of weapons, WEEK 2 challenges, Fortnite season 7
51Fortnite is back with yet another dance challenge, because at this point it seems like we need at least one of those a week these days. This one is a little different than what we’ve seen before, and reminds me a bit of the “dance to raise the disco ball at Loot Lake” one from a while back.
This time, Fortnite players are being asked to compete in a dance-off at an abandoned mansion. So, where is that?
Fortnite is full of a lot of abandoned buildings (I mean technically, all buildings are abandoned as no one actually lives in this hellscape murder island), but there’s only one abandoned “mansion” on the map. That would be east coast mansion of the “good guy” superheroes that appeared during season 4. While the mansion remains on the map, it has crumbled into an abandoned ruin.

To recap, here’s where you’ll find the unlabeled mansion on the map, as it’s not exactly the hottest of landing zones these days. It’s at the southeast edge of Lonely Lodge and northeast of the desert race
So, where’s this dance-off supposed to happen? That would be in the basement. You can get there by going through the main building and down the stairs, or you can actually enter straight into the dance zone from the north side, crudely patched wall as seen below.
Once you get down there, you can see that this is not just dancing in an abandoned mansion like you’re in The Haunting of Hill House (wow that was a specific reference), but there’s an entire dance floor set up down there complete with scoreboard as to who is winning the dance competition.
Here’s the sick sound system you’ll be working with. Your character will be deaf in no time.
As ever, you will have to find a dance partner. This is best done in duos or squads with a teammate you know and trust, but if you’re a solo player you probably want to jump into a big team game where you will have a ton of people on your team trying to get this done.
You can do this in solo as well and rely on the kindness of strangers who also need to get this challenge done. I do have to believe that most people who find themselves in this zone are going to be in this spot to complete this challenge, as I mean, why else would you be, so sure, you might be able to trust even enemies down here. The power of dance is magical, though once the music stops and the challenge is complete, it’s going to be a free-for-all and expect to go from dance fighting to actual fighting rather quickly.
It’s a fun challenge, and I haven’t been back to this mansion in ages now, so it was nice to return and see how terrible it all looks now. Will it stand for another season or is this its last gasp of relevance? I guess we’ll see.
