Daniel, a man faithful to God in Babylon, was condemned to be thrown into the lions' den for continuing to pray to his God, disobeying a law that prohibited worshipping anyone other than the king. Despite the danger, Daniel maintained his faith. King Darius, who appreciated Daniel, was forced to obey the law, but spent the night worried. At dawn, he found Daniel unharmed: God had sent an angel who shut the lions' mouths. The king rejoiced and proclaimed the greatness of Daniel's God.
