Dante’s Inferno (2010, Sony PlayStation 3) No Commentary Gameplay

I’m from the Midwest so the Fall Season marks a pretty distinct change from warm to cold and during this time of year I always try to squeeze in a Fall Time / Halloween / Horror game to get me into the mood. This year I decided to give Dante’s Inferno a go.

Dante's Inferno is an action-adventure game developed by Visceral Games and published by Electronic Arts. Released in 2010, the game is loosely based on Dante Alighieri's epic poem, "Inferno," from the Divine Comedy. Players take on the role of Dante, a knight who embarks on a perilous journey through the nine circles of Hell to rescue his beloved Beatrice from the clutches of Lucifer.

The gameplay is characterized by intense combat and platforming elements. Dante wields Death's Scythe and a Holy Cross, allowing players to choose between unholy and holy powers during battles. The moral choices made by the player influence the development of Dante's character, affecting the abilities and appearance of his powers.

The nine circles of Hell are beautifully rendered with grotesque and horrifying imagery, staying true to the vivid descriptions found in Dante's poem. Each circle presents unique challenges and monstrous enemies, culminating in epic boss battles against iconic figures from literature and mythology.
