"Dariusburst" is owned by Taito and the game's music is composed by ZUNTATA. I own nothing.

Azure Nightmare and it’s stronger variant, Crimson Nightmare, are bosses fought exclusively within the game’s “CS Mode”; during most battles with these two, “Splendid Form” will play. A feature solely unique to Azure and Crimson is the “Burst Eater” attack, a blue sphere that, if hit by the player’s Burst Cannon, will reflect the player’s shot back at them.

Azure and Crimson are modeled after the Blue Glaucus (Glaucus atlanticus), a type of nudibranch, or sea slug. This animal goes by other names as well, like “blue angel” and “blue sea dragon”.

Lastly, these two are important to the story of “Chronicle Saviours” overall. Unlike all other enemies, these two are not Belsar weapons. They’re actually a pair of A.I. created by the Thiima, extra-dimensional lifeforms only encountered in “G-Darius”, the first game, canonically, in the “Darius” series. A subtle clue to this revelation is that Azure and Crimson are based of sea angels, just like the Thiima’s ruler, The Embryon. Another clue, this one being their connection to the entire series, is that a Silver Hawk-like structure can be seen in the interior of Crimson Nightmare whenever it takes damage. This ties back to "G-Darius", which states, in the opening, that the first Silver-Hawks were made using Thiima technology.

While The Embryon was originally an enemy to humanity, it seems to be an ally now, or at the very least, also fighting the Belsar. It seemingly sends Azure and Crimson to do acts that only benefit the humans, such as destroying Belsar facilities, warping the player to the area where Gigantic Bite is, and to warn the humans that, if the Belsar aren’t stopped, the Thiima will return to destroy them both. Are these good deeds or self-motivated acts? Only The Embryon truly knows.
