I have been challenged to defeat the game "Dark Edge" from SEGA with one coin, and find the easiest way to do so, my advise, stay away from this fucking shit.

This is easily one of the most unplayable games I ever came across, and considering where I've been, that's saying a lot, even considering it was made in 1992 or 1993 (go figure).


What happens with this game? It's a pseudo-prototype between a 2D game and a 3D game, combining the worst of both worlds.

Credit where it's due though, this game has the recognition of being the first fighting game to try to adventure into a 3D gameplay, but that's all the recognition it deserves, as it is very clear that it was the only true "feature" the game is "special" for.

The main problem with the game in the aspect of the controls is the way the buttons are mapped: there is a weak punch, a strong punch, a kick, and a jump button.
How do you do high or low attacks? easy, for the low attacks you just gotta leave the stick in NEUTRAL position while doing an attack.
Pure shit.

But all I do here is just use strong punch and jump button. Absolutely ignoring the kick and weak punch.

More onto how to beat this prototype in 1cc, at least with THUD.

First four enemies (I don't care about their names):
Just jump and strong attack in the air like a monkey, no, I'm serious, THUD's air strong is totally prioritary in comparison to almost anything in the rest of the game, you may get hit, or you may do a perfect, that's completely out of your power but generally you tend to win.

Goliath:
This guy is different, though, if you try to jump against him, he'll counter it with his anti air every time, so the other thing you gotta do is basically play completely defensive, zoning him with your proyectile (Which is back then forward and a punch), he probably tends to eat it depending what he does.
When he is close, play defensively until he does one of the moves that are in the video that "sell" him, then try to grab him, that's the best you can do against him.

THUD:
A mirror match is always at the end, thus, THUD doesn't fall under the monkey tech, so, like Goliath you have to play completely defensive, if he's far away, zone him with your proyectile, if he's close, wait until he jumps over you then attack with strong punch, depending on where he is, either neutral strong or moving strong may be best suited for the job.
This is the hardest fight in the game and it's almost completely luckshit.

RAM-X (Red guy):
The video is almost self explanatory, but you have to be careful with your timing if you don't want to lose 50% of your lifebar in one attack.

THE RULER:
Also self explanatory, but due to how shit this game is, the command may be a little more difficult than what it may appear at first, it's a charge move apparently (?), so you gotta be careful.

And that's it, I know I may be able to perform a no-miss with this strategy, but this game, man, seriously I couldn't care less about this game more than the fact it was a "pioneer" on what it did, and that's all.
