Played with the "mouse look mod" and in the original resolution, this very enjoyable Star Wars FPS (and very capable, being published between Doom 2 and Duke Nukem 3D) starts off with the (now non-canon) event of Kyle Katarn getting the Death Star plans (Mission 01). Then we continue by investigating a Rebel base massacre (Mission 02) and following the investigation of it, Katarn is off to find an "expert" (Mission 03). Then, following the information from that person, Katarn infiltrates an Imperial Facility for info (Mission 04)! Following the info collected at the Imperial Facility he heads to the Gromas Mines to track the mineral source (Mission 05)! But, suddenly our Imperial Spy is captured and we are going to break him out! (Mission 06) The info we took from him leads us on a new mission! (Mission 07) Something is hot in the icey planet and we are going to find it! (Mission 08) Then, off to the Vertical City in order to retrieve a Navigation (Nava) Card to infiltrate the Empire! (Mission 09) Another interruption, this time by Jabba the Hutt, who wants revenge on us! (Mission 10) After escaping Jabba the Hutt, we continue with our mission. We need to find the only computer that can decode the Nava Card! (Mission 11) With the Nava Card decoded, we need to board a smuggler's ship and iniflitrate the only ship that can access the Hidden Factory. (Mission 12) In the final stretch of our journey, hiding in a huge imperial ship, we must persevere until we reach our goal! (Mission 13) Finally, in the Dark Troopers factory, ready to shut it down for good we battle with its creator! (Mission 14).
One has to admit that the story is much better than its contemporaries!
Actual gameplay time for the "blind" playthrough: exactly 8 hours!
