I received a free key from the Developer to check this out. I played it for just under 2 hours. It's an interesting title that's very light on story, aside from the general "stop this bad guy by doing this stuff," and focuses more on combat. It has a bit of a MMO aspect for the battles with the general idea of having a Tank, Healer, and DPS as members of your team. I think it's a novel idea, and the game does a good job of putting things together. It does suffer a bit when your healer is just focused on healing, or your mage has such long cooldowns that they are only helpful in short bursts.
The worlds feel mostly similar, and I can't say I had a single boss fight that I enjoyed as they just felt like I was off to fight a sponge absorbing monster. To be fair, it does capture the essence of old school JRPGs as that's often how combat would feel.
Graphically the game looks like it'd fit in with the late NES era of JRPGs, and that's quite ok. There is a pretty varied bestiary which helps keep things from getting too stale.
