The ruthless gevernment of the Imperium was more than what many colonies located on its outer rim were capable of tolerating, so they were willing to offer their allegiance to the Freedom Guard. There were still some terms to be discussed, in order to forge the alliance, which are expected to be ironed out with the Pax Liberati agreement, scheduled to be signed on the planet Lycean. The Imperium needed to sabotage this treaty somehow, but it couldn't engage these enemies directly. The Imperium's elite squad, the Shadowhand, managed to duplicate the technology of the Freedom Guard's Infiltrators to steal the blueprints of the Freedom Guard's structures and units, making it seem like a Freedom Guard ambush on the colonies.

From the Freedom Guard's perspective, the Imperium already stole the blueprints, and the only way to secure the treaty signing is to defend the Conventions Center for long enough, and then counterattack the imposters by destroying the Imperium Headquarters in the heart of the enemy base.

It took me a long while to figure out how to beat this mission, until I realized that now I could build the Heavy Rail Platform, which is more durable and has a longer attack range than the Laser Turret. Among the new units, the Triple Rail Hover Tank and the Phase Tank are now joining the battlefield. The latter requires the Phasing Facility to be built, though.
