"Memories (Part 4 of 5): Memory of Jeigh: Giant Lord Boss (NG/NG+)"—Located in the Memory of Jeigh (entrance via giant tree by Place Unbeknownst bonfire in Forest of Fallen Giants), this boss stands at the far end of the ongoing battle. It attacks with heavy swipes of its giant sword. It also tries to stomp the player as well.
Increased stamina, protective armor, and fire defense (diminish offscreen fire explosions) will greatly help in this fight. This boss is weak to fire, magic, lightning and can also be poisoned.
There are no online player summons for this battle, only two NPCs: Benhart of Jugo or Captain Drummond.
This gamechive contains four versions of the battle. The first is a solo battle. The second is a battle with NPC Captain Drummond. The third is a partnership with NPC Benhart of Jugo. Note that only one of the NPCs can be summoned for this battle, and not both. If you've already inherited Benhart's equipment, then Drummond becomes the better choice, since talking to him again in the Memory of Vammar yields the Drangleic Helm, which completes the Drangleic armor set. This also earns the "Holder of the Fort" trophy for trophy hunters. As usual, you must be in "human" form to summon them, and have exhausted their previous conversations elsewhere in the game. The fourth version is a NG+ battle, which also yields the Ring of Giants +2.
The soul of the Giant Lord and the Giant's Kinship (key required to face Nashandra, the game's final boss) is received for defeating this boss. On NG+ and above, the player will also receive the Ring of Giants +2.
The Soul of the Giant Lord can be traded with Straid of Olaphis (in the Lost Bastille) to obtain the Repel hex at the cost of 5,000 souls.
