Back when Dark Souls 2 first released 2 years ago there were a number of semi-broken things that were nerfed after patch 1.02. This run is done on the current patch and tries to emulate some of the more overpowered dynamics. This will use mostly spells (reason explained below), but also overpowered weapons such as mace and rapier (along with rings like Flynn's ring, Ring of Blades [RoB Flynn], and Old Leo Ring).

In addtion to many spells that were nerfed in either damage and/or number of casts (see next paragraph for details) One thing you could was stunlock certain bosses (Mytha, Ruin Sentinels) while powerstancing hammers (probably axes too). You can still do that in the current patch with flame whip and (to a lesser extent) soul spear barrage. I've tried to stunlock bosses with various weapons, but even with stone ring equipped I wasn't able to. On a recent run

Some of the spells nerfed after patch 1.02 were lightning spear, great lightning spear, resonant soul, great resonant soul, soul geyser, scraps of life and lifedrain patch (doesn't hit multiple times), crystal soul spear (requires 2 attunement slots now), various pyromancies, and hexes in general due to the Abyss Seal being nerfed.

This run uses spells that are still powerful such as dark orb, heavenly thunder, soul appease, soul spear, crystal soul spear, resonant soul, great resonant soul, and dark fog.
