It's not very often you run into the Giant Door Shields, especially being used as an actual weapon, but when you do it's usually someone trying the same old troll of blocking a door/path while their buddies spams projectiles through it (another reason why friendly damage should exist in some form or at least cause allies to stagger).

You can try various things to break the shield user's guard but I generally find that using a Dark Hand weapon art succ is the most efficient way. It generally works only once or twice though. Afterwards if you didn't get rid of the shield user they will generally start to back up if you try to do it again, this of course creates an opening for you or an ally (just make sure to break lock on and aim it away if an ally does try to sneak in so you don't grab them). Once you're in then let the feast begin.
