And there we are, in the oddly misfitting additional content of the game. You can literally smell the altered design philosophy. The DLC is "harder" and resembles DS2 more than the actual game it is in.

This makes me think that Miyazaki let the B team lead design this one and just mildly overlooked it, found it okay because he was shoulders deep in development for Bloodborne himself (thus the Jester NPC who feels so unfitting).

So, this DLC, easily the worst bit of Dark Souls 1, feels like the proving grounds for Shibuya and/or Tanimura, and it should already have been a warning on how unfitting DS2 will be.

But apparently, Miyazaki didn't care or actually approves of it. Ah well.
