This part deals with shopping in the early stage of the game.

Having survived the perilous journey to Dresden, the heroes each purchase a top-quality Great Hammer to penetrate the plate armor of all those Robber Knights. It is a pity they dont have Military Hammers in stock; for Military Hammers are the most effective and versatile one-handed weapons in the game (assuming no alchemical enhancement). Instead, each party member buys an Average Horse to speed up the journey.

Next stop: Bamberg, en route to Nurnberg. By checking in at the local alchemist at each city, I hope to find a good Philosophers Stone, required for successful potion-brewing.

(Tip: Only purchase Philosophers Stones from alchemists whose asking price is above 2 Florins.)

What luck! Bamberg's alchemist has a Stone of quality 25! This is likely to be the best Stone that can be bought from any alchemist in the game; only Universities can enhance this further.

And then Nurnberg itself, the home of the finest armorers in the Empire. Unfortunately, premium quality (37q) comes at a premium price: the armor at Nurnberg costs almost twice that of the average stuff. Here, I can only afford Large Shields for the party, which is still very cost-effective, since the best defense is not to get hit at all. A 37q Large Shield reduces the absolute chance of getting hit in melee by 12%.

As for the plate armor...well, see Part 7 for how to get it cheap!
