FAQ/Corrections:
Q1) You’re very harsh on the RNG. It’s not as bad as you say it is, stop min maxing and you will enjoy the game more. 20+ hours to get an upgrade is a joke, never takes that long.
A1) I do try to highlight that I’m talking about the endgame here. If you already have a weapon with pretty good stats but you are searching for a better version of it or a similar stat version to try out different blessings, then it can take hours and hours to farm the resources to create that weapon through the RNG layers.
Yes, you can use subpar weapons and if you are happy to play that way then that’s fine. But I’m sure there are many players who are struggling on the higher difficulties and bemoan having weapons with flaws or compromises because of the RNG system.
Q2) Do you find the game fun? Will you make analysis videos on Darktide like you did with Deep Rock Galactic?
A2) I do find the game very fun to play and it is close to being really good! If Darktide has a real launch 2.0 that is stable and a resurgence in the player base, I might do analysis videos for builds weapons etc.
At the moment though, as I mention in the video, sweeping changes seem to happen from patch to patch, just look at patch 13 to patch 14! It takes me a long time to plan, research, test and edit my videos. I need a Darktide that is stable otherwise weeks of effort will be made redundant with a patch making a video redundant.
Q3) Your first video was quite negative on performance, you mention it has improved but don’t say or show much about it.
A3) This was a difficult one for me because I have upgraded my graphics card and processor since doing my first video. On the forums I found more people saying performance was improving than not and so went with that statement.
Q4) You are obviously playing on low difficulties if you think the game is easy, play on Auric and Mealstrom and you will see.
A4) I play exclusively on Auric and Mealstrom and mostly just Mealstrom to be honest. I’m not saying I win every mission or that the game is easy now, I simply say the top end difficulty has diminished somewhat. I still lose Mealstrom missions where I make a stupid mistake, we have poor team compositions or players are obviously new to the difficulty.
Some of the modifiers also make it a lot harder, monstrosities stacked with specials turning in monstrosities for example. But generally, in my opinion, the power creep has made the top end difficulties easier, and I lament the challenge depending on the mission modifiers and map being played.
