A1) Advantage makes it so you roll two D20 and pick the highest the number. Disadvantage you roll two dice and pick the lowest the number.

Q2) You mention items that reduce saving throws on enemies. How do they work?

A2) You will find items that may reduce certain attribute saving throws if a condition is met. As a made up example based on real items: “When you hit enemies with a spell and cause damage, for 2 rounds they suffer -1 to Wisdom saves”.
