Reva arrives on Tatooine to locate Luke, while Vader pursues Kenobi and the Path in his star destroyer. Kenobi separates from the group so the Path can escape after realizing that Vader is only after him. He goes to a nearby planet and fights Vader alone and incapacitates him, damaging Vader's helmet and breathing device. After seeing his former apprentice's face for the first time in ten years, Kenobi apologizes to Vader for the events leading up to Anakin's transition to Vader, to which Vader replies that he is not Obi-Wan's failure and that he was the very Vader who "killed" who destroyed Anakin, not Obi-Wan. Believing his former friend to be gone for good, Kenobi leaves, much to Vader's dismay, who screams in anger at Kenobi's departure. Meanwhile, Reva arrives at Luke's house and confronts Owen and Beru. After subduing them, she pursues Luke into the desert, but eventually returns him to his family after remembering Anakin's massacre at the Jedi Temple. Released from the dark side, Kenobi congratulates her on overcoming her past trauma. On Mustafar, a healed Vader abandons his search for Kenobi after his master, Emperor Palpatine, questions his motives and loyalty. Back on Alderaan, Leia found new determination in her duties as a princess. Kenobi visits them and states that he will help the Organas when needed, and says goodbye to Leia. Returning to Tatooine, he resolves his conflict with Owen by allowing Luke to have a normal childhood and greets him before venturing out into the wilderness. Having found his inner peace, he is finally able to see and converse with Qui-Gon's Force ghost.
