Hey Everyone, AlteredCalyx here. We're going doing a First Playthrough of Dragon's Dogma 2.

We started the stream level 37 Fighter, soon as we got the augment to carry more weight, we switched to Warrior. I didn't save enough Dcp to get the new abilities so we were stuck with just the starting ability, Skyward Sunder, for a while. Warrior imo is more fun to play than Fighter. I'm even considering taking it to max vocation 👀.

Fresh tip: Hire a healer that can cure debilitations (such as being torched). My Jack can ignite his blades and has a bad habit of doing it against oily slimes 😵‍💫🔥.

3:06:26 Ran into another possibly bugged quest, the one where we have to talk to Hugo in gaol. I tried talking to him, but quest doesn't advance. I tried to free him by using keys I found in a nearby room to unlock his cell. This agro'd the guards and I had to run out, but ended up killing 2 of them (oops).

I went back, snuck into his cell to show him hey, the cell door is open and you can leave any time. He still wouldn't talk to me.

So I explored the rest of the tunnels, came back, and Hugo started talking. It took a while to explore that it was day time so maybe time of day mattered? I dunno. I just know he started talking, but then stopped... again. Maybe another day has to pass? I'd have to make another forgery or find another set of keys bc I only have 1 set and I need it for myself in case I do something questionable 😅.

Collected some glimmercoals for a quest and then we ended the stream as level 40 Warrior.

Playthrough Details:
Funny how I didn't even know about this game a few months ago, but it kept creeping up on my radar. Someone would mention it, posts about it would appear in my feed, etc. I caved in once I saw Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen was on a mega sale on Steam. I figured I'd try out the first one to see what the hype was leading up to Dragon's Dogma 2. I had a blast for such an old game.

I'm going in with minimal outside knowledge of the game and haven't looked into any guides.

Also, I don't usually save scum decisions because I want to feel like my choices have consequences (good or bad). BUT I'm not opposed to reloading if I feel I've missed out on notable loot 😈

-- I played 2 days off stream, but I swear it was just to check something out and well... some hours passed 😅
