Ever wonder what a dungeon crawler that doesn't have puzzles plays like? Look no further. Day of the Viper is an odd little single 'character' dungeon crawler where you pilot your Viper unit through 5 buildings, each with 5 floors, in search of data and equipment needed to defeat Not-Skynet and its armada of warships threatening humanity.

This is another one of the games I played in my childhood but never beat, so this is my attempt at beating it. There isn't a full playthrough for the DOS version, so here's my contribution. It is also the version I played as well, so it seems right to do. This is a pretty much a blind run. There are going to be quite a few pauses as I stop to take notes on locations (first of specific rooms, then items as well), so this might prove to be a bit irritating to watch. Also, I didn't realize I could turn off cursor capture in OBS without affecting the actual ingame cursor, so you'll have to deal with the occasional mouse pointer appearing. It took me quite a while to realize this, so that's at least half the series with the pointer around. My apologies for this.

The game has no music too which probably makes this even blander to watch. I thought of playing other music in the background, but I decided initially that I didn't want to deal with potential copyright issues as well as the need to choose music to fit the mood. I change my mind after the first building.

There's also a lot of fumbling around. The game is purely mouse-driven, so there's a lot to get used to. Hopefully this will happen sooner rather than later.
