DAY ONE! 5 TIPS FOR BEGINNERS! :: Basic Weapons, Armor, and Tools :: Ylands Starter Guide Tutorial

5 STEPS TO BASIC STARTING GEAR for YLANDS

STEP 1 :: Craft Basic Clothing!
-Gather 67 grass
-Craft 14 rope
-Use rope and grass to craft a grass shirt and grass skirt
-Get dressed in your new basic grass clothing!

STEP 2 :: Craft Basic Tools!
-Gather 4 stones and 4 flint off the ground
-Gather 18 sticks from the ground or from a large tree
-Use sticks, rope, stones, and flint to craft a stone pick, craft a stone axe, craft a stone knife, and craft a stone hammer.
-Put your new basic tools on your hotbar!

STEP 3 :: Craft Basic Armor
-Use your stone axe to chop trees until you have 6 bark and 4 resin
-Craft a Bark armor helmet and Bark armor boots using bark and resin
-Get dressed in your new basic bark armor!

STEP 4 :: Craft Basic Weapons
-Use your knife to craft 2 poles from sticks
-Craft a Stone spear using rope, stone, and a pole
-Craft a Wooden bow using your knife, rope, and a pole
-Gather 2 feathers from the ground nests on the ground
-Craft 10 arrows using sticks, resin, flint, and feathers
-Put your new basic melee and ranged weapons on your hotbar!

STEP 5 :: Make Camp, Cook Food, and Sleep
-Craft a flint lighter using flint
-Craft an unlit campfire from a stick
-Craft a torch using a stick, rope, and resin
-Craft a bedroll using your remaining rope and grass
-Place the campfire on your hotbar, then place it on the ground
-Place your lighter on your hotbar, use it to light your campfire and cook any food you have gathered
-Place your bedroll on your hotbar, place it on the ground, and unpack it by pressing [I] and selecting the hand icon from the radial menu
-Eat some hot food and get some sleep!
