DCSS DgWn1 - Randomized Wanderer Background
0Demigods are a species that are unable to worship a God and have poor aptitudes in all their skills, yet have powerful starting attributes and rapidly gain more as they level up. This makes them a bit harder earlier on, yet rapidly gain strength and become incredibly powerful as they level.
Wanderers are a background that gives you random skills, starting attributes, items, and potentially spells and spellbooks; you never know what you are going to get or if your species will have anything that really makes the skills worthwhile.
Regardless of the fact that I restart the Wanderer a few times, I don't really start with what would be 'recommended' for playing a Demigod. Finding a Large Shield right away as well, my is not going in what many players would consider a 'recommended' style of combat. I manage however to get all the way to the Temple and mostly clear out the Entrance to the Orcish Mines; surviving the many threats along the way.
