This was the first song that I wrote, so I guess it makes sense that it took the longest. For some reason, I decided to emulate the NES 2A03 chip for this soundtrack, channel limits and all, so that I'd really have an authentic NES 8-bit sound. In retrospect, I don't know if that was the best decision -- perhaps I could have done a little better if I had stuck with my traditional \"9-bit\" style and not limited myself to only using 2 pulse wave channels and limited percussion. Regardless, that's how things went, so that's the style of this soundtrack. I ended up using the opening lick of this song as a sort of recurring motif that's sprinkled about among the other songs in the soundtrack -- it's a technique that I rely on quite heavily when I'm making music for games.
