What Lies Beneath (Stage 5)
Here's the second song I made for Ripple Runner Deluxe. I already had a bunch of fast songs, so I tried to make something with a slower tempo here for contrast. This one's 90BPM, though I added more complex rhythms to increase the difficulty from that of Stage 3. The main gimmick here is swapping/rippling between spiked platforms, and I featured that prominently in the level design here. I tried to match it in the musical lines too, with call-and-response-type melodies. I ended up with a pretty laid back piece, with quite a different texture than the others--there's a lot more echoing and ambience than with the other, more high-energy songs.
