For the sake of Disclosure: I was given a free key for this game for the purpose of making a video. Dead Cells is as far as Rogue-Likes are concerned an excellent addition to the genre but we have to ask ourselves concerning that genre, "Have RogueLikes Ran Out of Ideas?" and moreover, " Does That Even Matter?" Let's explore the gameplay of dead cells and compare it to the gameplay of other great rogue likes such as the binding of Isaac, FTL: Faster than light, and even Rogue itself and see where rogue likes are going. Do games need to have new features for a genre to be current? Does the lack of new things in an excellent game mean that we're exiting, or entering a golden age of rogue likes? I dunno, how about I stop typing this description and just get to uploading the video!
