Dead Cells isn't really a Metroidvania, but that's ok
25Dead Cells may have some light Metroidvania elements, but where it truly shines is as an action roguelite.
Recently, I got back into Dead Cells after giving up on 2 BC months ago. To celebrate the new Fatal Falls DLC, I decided to explain why I keep coming back to it, even if it wasn't what I originally expected.
Even though the game barely qualifies as a Metroidvania in my book, it stands among my favorite games in the action and roguelite genres.
