Big Brother is watching you.
Ever beat the Watcher, the current final boss of Dead Cells? No? Today's your lucky day, because I show you how to beat him in a cheese-free way – no damage-boosted E-Whips or Bear Traps required. You need nothing more than a piece of cardboard and your (t)rusty sword from the prison cells. Alright, anything more advanced is OK too.

The fight is divided into 7 phases: 4 in which you fight the Watcher alone, and 3 in which you fight his tentacles (or whosever tentacles they are). Watcher and tentacle phases alternate (W--T--W--T--W--T--W).

The Watcher phases are pretty easy. He will alternate between a body slam and a projectile attack. Both are pretty easy to avoid. Just roll or block when you see the red line indicating a body slam. When he is about to start a projectile attack, his eye will turn green, giving you enough time to run away.

In his later phases, he will also randomly do an insane bullet hell attack. I can't really give you any advice on that, since that attack seems pretty unfair to me. Sometimes there are so many projectiles on the screen that you have no choice but to use your roll...but wherever you roll to there are more projectiles waiting for you. Anyway, I usually walk towards a wall and try to jump over or roll through any approaching projectiles. Remember to perform a roll before landing if you're falling from a great height (second row of platforms or higher) so you don't get stunned.

He might also do an electric shield attack. Just roll away from him when you see a red circular light flashing around him (that's the area affected of the attack).

Now, as for the three tentacle phases, these are where the fight can get a little tricky. The first phase should be no problem, just watch out that you don't get hit by the tentacles coming from below. They become faster the fewer they are, so try to decimate the health of each tentacle as much as you can before killing them off in quick succession.

The second and third tentacle phases are the hardest part of the fight. The number of tentacles increases in each consecutive phase (up to a maximum of five) and the tentacles learn a new swipe attack. One tentacle will stop following you at some point and randomly move to the far left or right of the room (it's often hard to see because of the small field of vision you have). It will then swipe through to the other end of the room, damaging you if you are not careful. Constantly look out for this attack. Don't attack any of the other tentacles when the swipe attack is about to come. Keep your roll ready so you can use it when needed. Technically, you can double-jump over the swiping tentacle, but rolling is still safer because of reasons. After each swipe attack try to safely lure one of the other tentacles out and attack. Try to get all tentacles' health as low as possible and then finish them off one by one, just like before. Again, their speed will increase the fewer there are left, so watch out.

That's pretty much it. If you see me almost dying in the video, don't blame it on the strategy, I just started sucking at some point.
