This is one that I really need to play more of for longer to see what mechanics they add later. Since there is the perks system as well it seems like the play style can be pretty heavily customized. I've seen that there's a block so it stands to reason that there might be a parry.
Anyway, let me know what you think of this one. It feels like it's been a while since a usually expensive game was the free game for the week. Let alone the sixty gbs it's going to take up on the PC.
I was right about the original Dead Island having what is known as "analog combat" that greatly improved the experience of the original game. Dead Island 2 does not have this unfortunately. It may be fine without it but I think it was an element of the original game that made or broke it for many people.
I mentioned that Deep Silver was hit or miss from a technical perspective. While I think Deep Silver is hit or miss from a 'do I like their games' perspective, I meant Techland for the hit or miss from a technical perspective.
