Raidou is the end boss in this game, and he is an unlockable playable character.

===== HOW TO UNLOCK RAIDOU =====

Beat Arcade mode with every character with the options on default settings. Once you've done that, Raidou will be available at the center of the character select screen.

===== ABOUT RAIDOU =====

Raidou was a rogue shinobi from the Mugen Tenshin clan. He is warrior who strives for power, and many years ago he did the unthinkable to his younger brother's wife Ayame, resulting in the birth of Ayane. He was eventually slain by Kasumi during the tournament.

As the brother of Shiden, the father of Ayane and the uncle of Kasumi and Hayate, he plays a significant role in the game story's family ties.

===== STYLE =====

Raidou is basically your bearded martial artist in a karate outfit... he has kanji wording on the back of his top and on one side of his pants. Also looks like a tramp.

Gameplay-wise Raidou shares other character's moves, much like Dural from Virtua Fighter. Some of the moves are slightly different though, and he is probably the most similar to Kasumi when it comes to base gameplay.

===== ADDITIONAL INFORMATION =====

---- In Training mode, there is no data in his Command List.

---- He does not have extra costumes, meaning that he only has the two standard costumes.

===== TRIVIA =====

---- In the early stages of design it was originally planned that his name was to be Hong Dee, with his fighting style being Chinese Taiji Quan.

---- He is one of two characters to appear as the final boss in two main DOA games (storyline-wise), with the other character being Alpha-152.

===== ABOUT SATURN DOA =====

The Saturn version of DOA1 is more accurately based on the original Arcade version (which was on Sega's Model 2 hardware), and is the first console port of a DoA game. Unfortunately due to the Saturn's limited hardware capabilities, the graphics quality of the in-gameplay character models and the backgrounds are lower when compared to the Arcade version. Other features from the Arcade version - such as the cartoony icons and 3D models on the character select screen - also fail to make it into the Saturn port.

However, the port does contain some features and modes not found in the Arcade original, such as an FMV intro and Time Attack, V.S., Survival, Training and Kumite modes. There are also unlockable stuff, which include: new costumes for each character; Extra Configs that allow you adjust some game mechanics; and having an option to use Kasumi's voice as the system voice. Additionally, Tina also has a special stage background that is different to her usual one when she is in her cowgirl costume.
