I went through something like this in the late 2000s when LiveVideo competed with YouTube in the video uploads scene. LiveVideo was once had superior technology over YouTube, but gradually lost that edge as YouTube fixed the issues LiveVideo was originally a response to. Eventually I learned the lesson of choosing platforms wisely.
