I became curious as to how well I could do score-wise from playing from start to finish since my original playthrough had breaks and I swam into things to die to see if there were cool death animations. I was also curious about how efficiently I could upgrade things to make the run smoother (i.e. getting the shotgun ASAP). This shows the full game other than the tutorial which doesn't impact your score.

I definitely missed some multipliers during the run and probably could have swept the areas for lionfish/eels to kill to boost my score more but this seems a reasonable score.

Once you have the shotgun you're more or less set for the game (also the sniper rifle is ideal for the kraken itself) but until they fix the shotgun ammo bug you're better off avoiding other guns until the final level (at which point keep your shotgun ammo below 20 shots to minimize the impact from the bug).
