Death Stranding 2: On the Beach is an action-adventure game developed by Kojima Productions and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment. The game is a direct sequel to the 2019 Death Stranding game.
Death Stranding 2: On the Beach is set, eleven months after the events of Death Stranding, primarily in Mexico and Australia. As in the first Death Stranding game, players control main character Sam Porter Bridges, from a third-person perspective on his journey to deliver cargo and connect isolated survivors and colonies to the wireless chiral network in order to prevent humanity from extinction once again.
Death Stranding 2’s core gameplay is very similar to the first Death Stranding; however, weapons and vehicles may be acquired sooner in the game and are more customizable. The game also has a heavier focus on combat than Death Stranding, so players may choose to engage enemies directly, use stealth tactics to eliminate them or avoid them altogether by navigating tougher terrain. The game introduces a new day to night cycle that does affect enemy behavior and a skill tree, which is divided into three categories (combat, stealth & serviceship) that will allow players to increase Sam’s abilities as they progress throughout the game.
