Death Stranding Is Strange... And Sort Of Great?
In 2020 we're all more distant from each other than we've ever been for innumerable reasons. I've been in my own hefty quarantine since March and without an end in sight things have become dower and at times lonely. About two weeks ago I picked up Death Stranding again after I stopped playing it a year prior. I found that my feeling on the game heavily grew from one of an already existing admiration to one of the deepest kinds of love I've ever felt for a game. This of course includes the silly nature that Hideo Kojima brings about with him. I mean you literally carry a Bridge Baby with you that cries through the whole game and you get taken to World War 1, 2, and Vietnam, I mean what? But in the end after finishing my playthrough of the game at the height of this morose time I've found myself in, the games constant theme of connectivity in the face of sorrow and isolation hit me really hard.
