Deathloop is unfamous for its rather underwhelming PC port — but you can make it feel okayish on Steam Deck at 40FPS. Unfortunately, there is a couple of hoops to achieve that.

1. Change refresh rate in Steam Deck settings to 40Hz and set uncapped framerate. DO NOT cap the game in Steam Deck settings to 40FPS as this can cause long loadings and even crashes.
2. Lock the game at 50FPS with in-game settings. Unfortunately, there is no in-game option to target 40FPS.
3. Use the Low graphics preset + FSR 2.0 Performance.
4. Run the game from the internal SSD, I got crashes when running it from a MicroSD card.

With the above settings, the game will run a lot of times at around 50FPS but pretty much never drop below 40FPS.
