DeDeck Mugen Battle 102: Yoko vs Athena Asamiya (Choiyer)

1st out of a 3-match pack for today's audience...
...well, it seems Yoko is doing double duty in DeDeck's beginning of the second season of MUGEN Battles, and for good reason. Not too long ago I found myself downloading Choiyer's edit of Ahuron's Athena XI. For those who remember, Ahuron's Athena was originally featured in a bout against DeDeck regular, Kyo Xi by Jin, and it was a pretty darn good one. However, since then she's been literaly raped of all her dignity, and all that remains of her is this watered down, glitched up piece of trash. For one, her AI is average at best, but this is made up for in her move hitboxes lasting until like the VERY last frame of the animation (making (D) Phoenix Arrow a pain in the ass to deal with at times). She makes use of her supers when given the smallest of openings (Shining Crystal Bit can be comboed off of light attacks, namely, lows), which is to be expected, but she plays an annoying defensive game. It took a few tries to find a way to get hits on her without either getting beat out competely by her high-damaging moves or at the least trading hits.
But the main thing that pisses me off (...despite this being a Choiyer character... and we ALL KNOW what he's famous for, that's not intended to be a pun), is that like his edit of CCI's Kula, there are now bugs in her, i.e. staying in the air trying to block a normal attack and jump and attack at the same time, going through the floor doing the same thing, projectiles that trade with the Shining Crystal Bit will suddenly be destroyed before hitting Athena, even LONG after the move has ended... Hell, she even stole a match from me once by glitching up off a winning combo, TURNING INVISIBLE, and reappearing with the Psycho Phoenix Infinity, which, in fact, proceeded this particular video. So... I came at this match with retribution in mind...
I'm normally NEVER very displeased with a character unless it's absolutely broke (and unfixable), but darn it, this Athena is just made of fail. I have over 10 different types of Athena on my comp, and she's perhaps the only one I'm planning on flatout discarding. Add the fact that Choiyer changed her voice to have some different get-hit sounds, again like his Kula, to add onto the "hentai" experienced, and that finally settled it. And so, the Gurren Gang, Yoko, Kamina, and Simon, take the liberty to do the honors... take this once decent character and put it out of her misery. Trust me, this was definitely worth it for me.
