Welcome to Game Hacking 208, the 14th video in the GHS Hacking Series!

In this video, we show how to successfully make a Cheat Engine script that REDUCES all damage dealt to the player!

Article: https://guidedhacking.com/threads/defense-boost-with-integers-in-cheat-engine-tutorial-gh208.19450/

Specifically, we cover the following topics:

1. How to use the IDIV Assembly command to divide damage directed at the player.
2. How to manipulate "hard coded" operands in special Assembly commands (such as IDIV).
3. Explanation of what bits, or binary digits, are, how they work, and why they matter!
4. Description of the relationship between bits and the common value types: byte, 2-byte, 4-byte, 8-byte, float, and double.
5. Detailed introduction of the General Purpose Registers in a 64-bit CPU.
6. Break down of all the various sizes of registers: 64-bit, 32-bit, 16-bit, and 8-bit - and how these all relate to one another.
7. How to save and restore registers using alloc() so you're not limited to just the ones you see in the instrutions you want to manipulate.
8. Another look at how to use symbols to control address values in your scripts.
9. Discussion of some limitations with IDIV (we cover how to deal with them in the next video)

If you don’t have Cheat Engine or if you’re brand new to Cheat Engine / Game Hacking, we recommend watching the GHS series from the beginning:
https://guidedhacking.com/forums/game-hacking-shenanigans/

We’re using NIOH as an example to hack HEALTH and DAMAGE, but what we show in the video works with MANY more games and with many things besides HEALTH and DAMAGE!

Keep in mind that not every game works the same, and we specifically chose NIOH for this video because it's beginner friendly (we choose more difficult games later as the series progresses) so things might not work exactly the same as you see it in the video if you’re trying on a different game.

And that’s everything this time around! We hope you enjoyed the video!

In the next video, we start making more advanced scripts, with multiple layers that we'll combine to start REALLY changing the mechanics of a game! So be sure to check out GH209 as soon as it comes out! (HINT: Subscribing to Guided Hacking's Youtube Channel, hitting the bell, and turning Youtube Notifications on will ensure you NEVER miss any of our future videos ;)

And for advanced questions and help, visit https://guidedhacking.com/, the number one place to learn how to hack games.

Thanks so much for watching! We’ll see you again real soon!
