Here is a followup to my first Defraction test video. There were two tests in that video, not to confuse you. In this test I look at a moving lens with a steady camera, in order to gauge the phenomena that we are seeing.

I personally think that this is a conclusive possibility for the reasons that ships disappear over the horizon. What do you all think?

Things that we can't prove or don't know, is why does the atmosphere act like a lens? Does it have to deal with atmospheric water vapor? Since this is seen over oceans, there is often spray from the waves, and lots of evaporation.
