I never owned the PC version of Bethesda's spectacularly successful RPG Oblivion, so I decided to pick it up now that even the Game of the Year edition (which includes Knights of the Nine and Shivering Isles) sells for about 10$ at many online retailers in my country.

Apart from the comfort of mouse/keyboard controls and better graphics, what I'm particularly interested to check out in this version of the game is the wealth of free mods available for download. A lot of Oblivion apologists (of which there are many) insist that the game only comes to its right when some of the best user-made mods have been installed, and that's a claim I want to be able to verify or refute.

As with everything else at the moment, though, Oblivion will obviously have to wait until I've finished playing my first (and leisurely paced) Dragon Age: Origins playthrough...
