Yes it is true that democracies don't appear to be successful in reducing economic inequalities because a lot of cossuption happens in democracy and leaders don't fulfill their promises. Their economic policies are in favour of a small group and benefits are consentrated in few hands. Ultr rich section of society enjoy a highly disproportinate share of wealth while on the other hand poor have to face only paverty. They are not even able to meet their basic requirement.
