Demon Slayer Review || Part 2: The Plot, Production Quality/Soundtrack and Conclusion
2Demon Slayer is a 26 episode Dark Fantasy, Action/Adventure anime centered around a young boy named Tanjiro who becomes a demon slayer after nearly every member of his family is slaughtered. Only his sister, Nezuko, survives, but there is a heartbreaking catch to this. Nezuko, herself has been turned into a demon by the notorious fiend, the evil demon Muzan, that massacred his family. And like many action anime over the past decades, we see our hero Tanjiro go through intense training, befriending fellow demon slayers, and of course, battling with demons, many of which are incredibly powerful foes in his quest to cure his sister and change her back to human form.
Demon Slayer follows the manga written by Koyoharu Gotoge which debuted in 2016, continuing through this year. As you can imagine, not all of the Demon Slayer manga has been adapted just yet with this first season only covering the events of the first 6 out of 20 some odd volumes. And as of now, we are aware that a film adaptation of volume 7 is currently in the works to be released around October 2020 sometime.
When released to audiences around the world in 2019 at the near end of the decade, Demon Slayer took the anime world by storm receiving critical acclaim along with several notable awards including Best Boy, Best Fight Scene, and Anime of the Year from Crunchyroll just to name a few. And Demon Slayer has been placed in the Top 25 anime of the decade for the 2010s consistently in pretty much every anime poll out there despite debuting at the end of the decade.
In this second part of my two part Demon Slayer review, we cover the plot of the show along with my thoughts on the show's production quality and soundtrack. And finally, I give my conclusion and rating for Demon Slayer
