The Forgotten Realms universe has been the setting for numerous games over the past 3+ decades. While some of these games fail to hold up that well over the course of time due to technological advancement (i.e. Eye of the Beholder), others continue to have a faithful following of active gamers (i.e. Baldur's Gate and Neverwinter Nights). Then, there are the numerous mediocre and outright atrocious games seeking to capitalize on the Wizards of the Coast license without any creative investment. Demon Stone is seemingly an example of the latter -- at least in its PC implementation.

Demon Stone is a hack-n-slash theme park ride with awkward controls, frustrating camera angles, and brain dead AI, with a threadbare story and mediocre voice acting and visuals. Puzzles are interspersed throughout and a few RPG-like elements (i.e. equipment and skill upgrades between levels) help break up the monotony, but even these elements are poorly implemented -- only seemingly better than they actually are as a result of unresponsive controls and repetitive combat.

This is a realm that should be forgotten.
