Demonstration of the 245-in-1/23 plus 222-in-1 Multi-Cart (Part 4 of 24)
Here are some timestamps! (Turn on CC or read my brief description)
00:00 - Introduction to Part 4 of the 245-in-1/23 plus 222-in-1 Multi-Cart
00:31 - Drop Zone
02:10 - Dash Galaxy
05:05 - Q-Bert
06:19 - Egypt
07:20 - Alpha Mission
08:22 - Firehouse Rescue
11:45 - I Can Remember
15:20 - Perfect Fit
17:03 - Hokuto No Ken
18:49 - Chitei Tanken
31. Drop Zone - This is a clone of Defender II (NES). There is nothing to say here. I guess you can say that it is competent.
32. Dash Galaxy - This is another platformer (although this one was made by Data East). This one is a momentum-based platformer (where you have to run and then jump) to get to specific places in the levels. It's a pretty good game. It also has an oxygen bar.
33. Q-Bert - This is a puzzle platformer where you jump on blocks to change them to the color it wants you to change. The funny this is, is that, when Q-Bert runs right into an enemy, he literally symbol swears. I guess Q-Bert is competent enough, but I cannot help but laugh whenever Q-Bert is doing symbol swearing. Also, I BOMBED at Q-Bert (but then again, it IS a demonstration, so I didn't care too much).
34. Egypt - This is a puzzle game. It's a pretty good one.
35. Alpha Mission - This game is a pretty decent early shooter (with power-ups, as usual). There's nothing to say about it (aside from that).
36-37-38. Firehouse Rescue, I Can Remember, Perfect Fit - Oh boy...…THESE games SUCK. For example, Firehouse Rescue is a borefest (actually, all three of them are) and it has you rescuing cats and people, I Can Remember has this super-annoying sound (that happens whenever you match one of the cards up) that wants to make you break that game (or your computer/laptop) or mute the game (because it's THAT bad) and it's a matching game and Perfect Fit is another boring game that has you match stuff up. Did I mention that these three are "edutainment games"? With the exception of Spiritual Warfare (although that game was part-Zelda clone, part educational) and Exodus: Journey to the Promised Land, there are no legitimately good "edutainment" games on NES or any other platform (that I have played, at least).
39. Hokuto No Ken - At least this game is not one of the three "edutainment" borefests. Still, this game is mediocre. I suppose it is better than the three games that came before it. You are kicking and punching enemies and making them explode/fly off screen.
40. Chitei Tanken - This game is a clone of Dig Dug (except it has power-ups). It's a pretty good game.
Here we are at Page 4 of the 245-in-1 Multi-Cart. Drop Zone and Q-Bert are competent, Chitei Tanken, Egypt, Dash Galaxy and Alpha Mission are good, Hokuto No Ken is mediocre and the three "edutainment" games suck.
