You've been asking for it ... so here it is! Electronic Arts is phasing out Origin (the locker that actually works on the Steam Deck) in favor of the EA App (which doesn't work right on Steam Deck). While Origin is not discontinued quite yet, we might as well get ready ...

I have manually injected all the components into a proton prefix to get this application working with Steam Deck. This video will show you how to install EA App, overwrite the prefix with the needed content that I'll provide. We'll also do the bonus of installing Titanfall 2 on the SD card and create a dedicated non-Steam game launcher for it.

Note: Yes, the replacement download is large (1.1GB) but the EA App itself (of which MOST will be replaced) is almost 900MB on its own. My differential is only a couple hundred megs bigger than the default install but I'm including every single possible diff file needed. I realize this seems a bit ... nuclear ... but it works and when a more elegant solution comes, I'll depreciate this one with an easier one.

A mouse and keyboard are HIGHLY recommended for this tutorial. I did manage to perform the entire exercise from the couch but it does go a lot faster from a docked Deck with KB/M.

NOTE 11/10/22 - If you find you get begged to UPDATE AND RESTART, change your launcher to point to the original EA Installer EXE and run it. Let it REPAIR APP. Once done, change back to EALauncher.exe.
