Descent 1, Level 20, insane difficulty, cold start, no death, full rescue, 135HP at exit
Difficulty rating: 3 (very hard).
This level is a big patience test. If you lost your patience, a green rocket platformer will kill you... One of the biggest problems is the lack of energy centers.
The level begins with a frustrating hide and seek: you need to find the blue gopher robot for the blue key, but be careful not to activate the spawn points.
You must do this by using as little energy as possible. I suggest restarting if you go below 30 energy. I was lucky enough on this level and got the blue key quite early, and had plenty of energy.
The area with the yellow key is the hardest. There are gazillions of blue drones. They are easy to destroy, but they tend to flank you from everywhere.
And there are those 4 green rocket platforms... The first two is easy to snipe from a relatively safe spot. The third is somewhere near the charger zone. It's relatively easy to lure if you are reckless enough to move closer. The fourth one is stationing near the yellow door. Sometimes it goes roaming sometimes not, in this case it didn't go. So I lost my patience and rushed in to destroy it with all guns an missiles I had.
By this time you probably stumbled upon the yellow drone holding the yellow key.
The red key zone is hard if you dare to go in, but you shouldn't. There are 5 drones and 1 green rocket plaform. Lure them.
After getting the red key, and cleared the path to the red door. You should go back to the beginning and farm some shields. All gopher robots that are initially there hold a shield sphere, and green lifters like to drop these too. So I ended up having 177.
After rescuing the hostages the two spawn points will activate and emit rocket hulks, you should be quick to destroy the reactor before they start looking after you.
If everything goes well you can escape in a huge rocket flood. Hopefully none of the missiles will hit you.
