I arrived at the hotel and met my tour rep
who told me about a trip to the desert tonight,
and in the sands a stone beast lies except
somebody ran off with its head and three of its thighs.
This desert lay desolate for half a millennium
after the trade route collapsed all its income was lost
from the import and export of dietary selenium.
Why import from a desert when you can buy it at cost?

When we arrived, I poured my curiosity over this creature
and was amazed that it was unique in almost every feature
Its plinth read, "What're you looking at, ya gawper?
Iif you go on all these trips, you'll end up a pauper."
So it was I heeded the beast's timely advice
and I stick to the pool supping rum, coke and ice.
