I couldn't tell if other people have already posted this, or know if anyone will even find use in it. But when you get to about level 7 or 8 in Destiny 2, you'll eventually unlock your subclass quest, The Shard of the Traveler, in the Dark Forest.

When you start this quest, you'll progress through several talking visions, until ultimately coming to an area that lets and encourages you to spam your Special attack on Dreg, almost instantly recharging it whenever you stand on glowing light (which is everywhere).

The level ends after you kill a mini boss using your special. I did this with a Warlock Voidwalker subclass. Basically all you do is fight and clear the map until the "reinforcements arrive", which is a mini boss/tank. It stays motionless, so just run away from it. Try to find the spawning point of the Shank (flying bots). They pop out of the spawn cave almost non stop. Standing on the glowing light also recharges your grenades, which nuuuuuuke these things. You can literally stand there and throw non stop grenades that kill all enemies as they come out. Your health replenishes instantly. And you can nail the backup Dreg as they also close in.

See the video for more detail. You can spam it for an hour or so and max your level very easily. Then finish the story while finding better gear.
