So let me tell you what happened. We started at around 1:50 or 2 pm, we go in and its just a mess. We didn't have more then 8 second life spans before the Cyclops were destroying us in one hit kills and the vex were just spawning again and again with no end.

It took us what felt like a hour or so to finally get into the Vault, yes it took us that long to complete the first phase. We go in and start the 2nd part only for it to be overwhelming and we just gave up and tried Deep Stone Crypt instead. Apparently whatever Contest Mode is I am assuming its why we could never get past it.

This was my first try of this raid by the way, having only watched a guide on it and it seemed easy enough and yet the experience alone was just rough.
