Detective GUI is a puzzle platformer, played with a mouse and keyboard. The game is five chapters long. It can be played in a browser on itch.io and Newgrounds (links provided above). It can be downloaded to Windows PC on itch.io.

The surreal retro graphics and rule-bending gameplay are similar to indie puzzle game Baba Is You. Each chapter’s levels are sprawled across an overworld map, and gradually unlocked Metroidvania style. However, instead of weapons and power-ups, the player can only progress upon understanding the game’s strange logic. The creative level design, which promotes out-of-the-box thinking, together with the atmospheric music and charming pixel artwork invite the player to sink deep into its gameplay. Puzzles often have more than one solution. And levels are often visited out-of-order, requiring repeat visits to truly appreciate. All of this results in a game that is at once immersive, exciting, and memorable. And challenging in the most unconventional sort of way.
