DFuxa Explores - 7DRL 2011 Broken Bottle
Darren Gray is a prolific developer of roguelikes and host of the 7DRL annual challenge; not to mention a host in various roguelike related communities (like Roguelike Radio). As such I wanted to do at least one roguelike he developed and I figured I'd go with Broken Bottle.
On the surface there isn't really anything that interesting about Broken Bottle; gameplay wise it is a very generic roguelike to be sure. However, if you look closely at the descriptions of the entities you fight and your drunken status, you'll see that stuff changes as you get more drunk. Much like an alcoholic (har har) your disposition 'changes'.
It is a rather neat idea in the fact that in game items can have a direct effect on how you perceive the world. I sort of wish Darren did more with it but the idea is solid enough to promote.
