I really like the concept of mercantile endeavors mixing with roguelikes; plus this has an added advantage to helping explain how merchants can survive in some many of those roguelikes we play!

Depths of Greed is a game about a merchant who 'barters' his way through a dungeon as opposed to fighting his way. You have various tricks to help you out with your buying and selling and your ultimate goal is to buy the Elixir you need at the bottom of the dungeon.

It does have issues though as you can easily exploit the monsters with your 'merchant tricks'; I try to avoid this but it feels like it is an intended part of the game.
