A really neat idea that combines Magicka style rune casting with roguelikes. You collect runes from which you cast spells; runes which when combined in different order will cast different spells. Need a Fireball? Double Fire Runes. Want a Fire Beam? Fire Beam + Beam Rune.

The game is played with Cardinal directions, enemies can have resistances, and there are items which can augment (or sometimes also slightly debuff) your character. Skillbooks can allow you to adjust your playstyle as you see fit for how you play.
